Born Again

Work has eaten enough into my personal life when I felt the urge to take off to a no mans land. My life has never been so monotonous ever before that I felt the great need to be alone. I contemplated on the idea of a vacation to Kullu and Manali long offered by an old friend of mine, whom I havent met in six years, thanks to my work life. The more I thought, the more I realised my need to enjoy peace, breathe the silence, walk hand in hand with nature and do nothing but live the moment. Thinking no more, I took off to meet my friend who would join me on a mesmerizing journey. The winding pathway up the hill, on the midst of summer in a bus, gave me nothing but a true reflection of NATURE, in its magnificence. Being a great lover of mountains, what else would I need, than this beauty that lies ahead me. With every breath I took, I filled my lungs with the fresh air and at a particular stretch, I embraced the pleasant scent of Eucalyptus into my heart forever. I held the hands of these peaks, as my bus carried me up, where I had never set my foot on. Words fail me, when I want to say how much I have fallen in love with this place. I cant believe, a girl who knows nothing about swimming, is so daring to set her foot, for the first ever time in river rafting. When I set my feet in the freezing water of river Beas, my body melted like the glacier that formed Beas . The moment when the water splashes on my face, it did not fail to drench my thirsty soul and fill it with bounty of joy. I loved being drenched and rocked in the raft through the 14 miles in the river. It taught me the twists and turns in every man's life and made me realise how we humanbeings never give up. It brought me face to face with reality and gave me a new life. In Manali, as I walked down the path from the Hot Spring Vasisht enjoying the roaring BEAS river carrying the spine chilling glacier water through the Himachal, little did I realise that I am born again, a new soul within myself, enjoying all that is around me. Words fail me when I want to say how renewed I am after this soul stirring trip with my loved one to Himachal.....
